I moved from 1Password to Bitwarden about half a year ago. I never looked back, and I've never missed anything. The UI might be a touch clunkier than 1Password, but it's still good and perfectly usable on the whole. What is more, it is open-source and people can inspect its code.
Based on our record, bitwarden seems to be a lot more popular than Padloc. While we know about 604 links to bitwarden, we've tracked only 4 mentions of Padloc. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Padloc [1] yet. It's end-to-end encrypted, open source, easy to self host, and with a really UI + UX. I got all my family to use it and used it for a over a year, before eventually contributing actively to it. Full disclosure: I have "contributing power" but do not make money from its sales or anything like it. [1]: https://padloc.app. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
If you're a Bitwarden user and this doesn't worry you, you haven't been paying attention to the history of almost every company that has accepted VC funds. It doesn't matter how well intentioned the founders are - once you accept that kind of money, it's not your product anymore. You are now in the business of making money, nothing else, and those skewed incentives will start bleeding into their product and... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

For passwords and 2FA I use Bitwarden in combination with a self-hosted Vaultwarden service (for imcreased security and use of pro features for free). Source: 4 months ago
First it's good to use a password manager, however it's not a good idea to use the one built into your browser. I would suggest switching to BitWarden or similar (not LastPass). Source: 4 months ago
I just noticed today when relogging in on Bitwarden (I couldn't sync my vault) that it said "Logged in as [email] on __$2__" instead of "Logged in as [email] on bitwarden.com". I don't know why or how that happened, and I have no idea what it means. Did I screw up somehow? Just to be clear, I did login and just after I logged in my brain realized that it said "__$2__" instead of what it should say. Source: 4 months ago
