The Best Free Education Websites & Learning Apps for Kids
Outschool OK, so Outschool isn’t technically free, but with online video classes taught by real teachers as low as $5 a class, it’s worth checking out. Where else can you find lessons on learning the ukulele, playing a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, and discussing Diary of a Wimpy Kid all in the same place? (They’re also running a program for free classes for kids impacted by...
8 fantastic educational resources for online learning, just in case you need them, parents.
My 9-year old daughter has been getting tutoring from Outschool over the last few months and we couldn’t be happier. Same goes for our editor Kate, who has been using it as part of her homeschooling curriculum (see her son, above) You’ll find everything from art classes to ASL tutoring and pretty much everything in between. Classes are taught live via Zoom, so as long as you...

  • Is Outschool really good for homeschooling?
Outschool is a web platform where instructors offer classes, individual tutoring, and group activities. The instructors are independent and can choose their subjects and presentation style. Some classes are live and some are prerecorded. Source: 10 months ago
  • i’m a homeschooled teenager with no friends
My art lover started with art classes on Outschool link. It's not a ton social, but it does help with learning to talk to others in a safe space and doing a fun activity. Outschool also has social clubs where kids and teens can meet up and just chat about certain subjects. If you can't join groups in person, this might be an option to get started. • Where can I provide french tutoring
I teach on http://outschool.com, and though it is based on the states, I have been quite happy. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Fellow trans people living in states that are actively passing anti-trans laws, how are you coping? Are you planning to leave?
I always make this recommendation when educators post here. Have a look at the Outschool program https://outschool.com it's a remote learning company that I have a niece that teaches through them. I've heard nothing but good about the organization, and it teaches many that cannot attend a regular school. Including many trans children. Source: about 1 year ago
  • 8 year old newly diagnosed with dyslexia
Outschool.com also has some teachers who do orton-gillingham stuff that we tried and we found that useful as well if you think doing it yourself is a bad idea. Source: about 1 year ago

  • [PC] [Early-mid 2000s?] Edutainment children's flash game where you go around a house making environmentally-friendly decisions in your daily life
The gameplay was like this: you, the player, are a primary school-aged kid going about your daily life and getting ready for school. The narrator of the game guides you through your daily tasks, like brushing your teeth, packing a lunch, adjusting the thermostat, etc. And in every task, you're prompted with multiple different choices. For example, when packing a lunch for school, you have the choice of using a... Source: 9 months ago

  • Oklahoma Governor Stitt defends decision to axe PBS funding over 'really problematic' content
If you believe your children benefit from PBS KIDS and you can no longer access it from a local TV station, I would suggest you try the PBS KIDS website which carries much of their children's programing. https://pbskids.org/ This link will take you to the live streaming area of their website. https://pbskids.org/video/livetv. • [Partially Lost] Sagwa The Chinese Siamese Cat Game
Hello, friends. I don't know if this is something that would technically count due to the context as to why it is lost, but I've decided to give it a shot. In the early 2000s when I was little, I remember playing a lot of website games, including from nickjr.com, disney.com, and pbskids.org. Fairly recently, I remembered a page on the PBS Kids website for Sagwa The Chinese Siamese Cat. I went on the Wayback... Source: about 1 year ago
