Consider doing 1-2 regions, like the west/southwest.. Midwest/south. Less miles and you will see plenty. Frankly, the driving from monument to monument sucks... like sucks for days...   My two sons and I did a RV trip over xmas break. Flew to Las Vegas, rented an RV and drove to Grand Canyon, South Rim. Stayed for 2 days. Drive to Zion, stayed for 2 days. Did lots of fun stuff on the way. Back to Vegas. 5 days, 4 nights sleeping in the RV. We had a great time. There's a massive market for RV rentals in Vegas. Go to rvshare.com.   I think you should start by going to https://rvshare.com or any similar place, and rent an RV for a week or a month to try this out, even if you just lock your house and camp in your driveway.
