You could make a ticket in Jira with a bunch of links or whatever the hell it is that makes Jira load so slowly, and make an identical ticket in Plane, and compare the loading times.     I use Lubuntu on a 1st gen i3 4GB DDR3 laptop, so you'll do more than fine. There are some nice themes at opendesktop.org for a better experience (just don't expect any miracles). Source: about 2 years ago
