In my own experience intellij IDEA is a great IDE but I think that it might be a little bit too heavy, if you're on a lower end machine I would suggest Apache NetBeans or the solution I am using right now is, Visual Studio Code with the Java extension with OpenJDK for smaller projects (For learning it should do). - Source: Reddit / 1 day ago
