  There’s another service I’ve tried called NoteJoy that might be what you’re looking for. It’s not on the same level of Evernote, but it’s also catching up. They can do note creation of emails, and they offer end-to-end encryption, but their mobile clipping kinda sucks, and they don’t support tables (yet), but those are features planned for 2023. • which note-taking app are you using or used in past other than evernote?

  I am currently checking out NoteJoy, which offers nested notebooks, code snippets, a web clipper and bi-directional linking. So far, I have enjoyed it and the synchronisation across devices is fast. The web clipper is not as good as Evernote's offering but it does pull the text and links with a link for the website at the top of the note. Source: over 1 year ago

  Notejoy has been my go to for a few years now. Works great on iOS, Android, and Mac. Haven’t used it on PC but I’m sure it’s the same experience. I like the hierarchical notebook layout.   I am not interested in complex cloud hosting systems like https://www.seafile.com/en/home/, https://nextcloud.com/, https://owncloud.com/.   Also just because something is "free" doesn't mean it is cheaper. I can run a free Owncloud but it might be cheaper to pay someone else to run my server while I focus on my solution. USB-A could be patent free and USB-C may have a small royalty but the UX and cost of manufacture may make USB-C still cheaper.
