The Best 2FA Apps 2021: Locking Down Your Online Accounts
Although it’s becoming less common, security questions still show up as a strange form of 2FA. We always recommend lying on these questions, then jotting down your response in a password manager like 1Password (read our 1Password review). Between social media and other online services, it’s usually not hard for an attacker to figure out the answers to your security...

  • Can I lock my Mac when an AirTag moves away from it?
There are ways to do this with an iPhone and/or Apple Watch. Near Lock is one option. Source: over 1 year ago
  • An app that locks the mac if it hasn't detected your face in 3 minutes.
I don't think such an app exists, but maybe Near Lock comes in handy: https://nearlock.me/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Alternative to Near Lock !
I've been trying for over a year to find an app that unlock my Hackintosh (and MBP) with my phone or other blueprint when I get near it (and lock it when I walk away). I have a Whoop band so an Apple Watch isn't an option right now (until they add BP monitoring and my Whoop sub runs out at least). I found Near Lock and nearly cried with joy. Not only was it exactly what I wanted, it looked slick‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎too.... Source: about 2 years ago

  • 25 Best Productivity Apps: 2023 Review Guide
Passwords are the first line of defense for protecting your digital information and your accounts. Weak or easy-to-guess passwords are often all it takes for nefarious actors to gain access to things they shouldn't. Even so, generating and remembering all these strong passwords can be a pain, and forgetting and resetting your passwords is also one of the least fun (not to mention time-consuming) activities we all... - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
  • Anyone else having a password crisis!
A password manager is your friend. You can use it on all of your devices (phone, computer, iPad — all of them!). This is the one I use. https://1password.com/. Source: 9 months ago
  • Google authenticator (help)
For password management, including TOTP codes, I've been using 1Password for several years. It works very well for logging into my Proton account, as well as several dozen other services which offer TOTP but don't offer FIDO/U2F/WebAuthn yet. I trust their description of how their encryption works (fully E2E, 1Password employees cryptographically have no access to information stored in my account). And the annual... Source: 10 months ago
  • How to Take Advantage of the GitHub Student Developer Pack
1Password is another popular password manager. I haven't used this one, but many people swear by it, so I'll include it. You get 1 whole year of free access. Here's a review for good measure. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
