This looks fantastic. I will definitely give it a spin. I've been tracking what I call "computational scratchpad" apps for a while now but haven't found one that fits my environment/workflow yet. This is all in calca syntax so you can download that for free and copy-paste this whole post into it and change the numbers for your car or electric rates. Calca is like a spreadsheet met a text editor, it's great. I don't work for Calca it's just a great tool. Source: 5 months ago

The flip side to this is that Julia is a very capable general purpose engineering calculator and simulator. For example, calculating friction in hvac ductwork, voltage drop in long electrical circuits, solar gains for windows or solar panels facing various directions, cost/benefit analyses of thicker or thinner roof insulation and so on...
