  • Interactive Music Theory Cheat Sheet
Amazing. I only wonder why the post didn't link to the homepage instead. I would not forgive OP if I have missed all the other tools: https://muted.io. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Hi can anyone help with this bass sound?
Then google and download all the free presets you can find (in the mix, SNFK, muted.io and echo sound works have some great free Vital preset banks). More than likely you'll find a bass preset you like in there, then add some camelcrusher on it and maybe a bit of OTT (a free multiband compressor plugin). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Routines I Use to Stay Happy & Zen While Spending Multiple Hours Per Day in Front of a Screen
This is something I care about deeply because to me optimizing physical and mental wellbeing is an absolute priority, and over the years I've implemented different tools, routines and techniques that allow me to stay healthy and take care of my body even while I'm building my current projects in front of a computer. In case you're curious, these days my two main projects are fffuel, where I build a collection of... - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
  • muted.io - Interactive music theory tools & visual references
Learning to play or produce music can be really daunting and intimidating. muted.io aims to bridge a gap there and make it much easier to understand music theory. With a series of interactive online tools, the site makes it easy to reference and play the different chords and scales. The ultimate goal is to create a resource that eliminates most of the wrote memory that has been needed to date for making music. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Playing Sound on the Web Using Tone.js and Alpine.js
I've been having a ton of fun creating interactive musical tools and references over at muted.io. Things like an interactive circle of 5ths, a reference to all major and minor scales and a tool to play chords in keys. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago

  • What can I do with songs I’ve written?
This Hookpad tool lets you do that. You can type in notes and syllables. The app will sync your syllables with the notes. Click "PLay" and you've got a song. It can even add backing instruments. The site also teaches theory so you could learn about things such as chords. When you do that, instead of simply adding (lyrics + notes), you can add (lyrics + notes + chords). And again when you click "Play," the app... Source: 12 months ago
  • How do i transcribe?
As you do this more and more, you'll slowly start to be able to pick up longer phrases at once instead of single notes. Be sure to check back frequently against the playback!! Every couple of notes or so if not every note you add. This is made easier in certain tools like https://www.soundslice.com/ which combines transcription playback and notation tools into one interface. I think you can add a youtube link in... • do you compose with your instrument or completely pen to paper?
Depends on what I'm writing. If it's a rock song, it's going to be written by physically playing my guitar. If it's something orchestral or electronic or whatever, I'll probably go straight to either my DAW or notation software, depending - something that can give me instant playback! It's not as immediate and physical as working with my instrument, but it lets me write for instruments I don't play or own. And... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Creating music without MIDI instruments/instruments in a DAW? (for now)
If you have a vocal melody and lyrics in mind, you can see what it might sound like at least by using your computer keyboard and mouse drag and drop at https://hookpad.hooktheory.com/. There you can quickly type syllables and notes into a grid. Then click "Band" and the site will generate an instrumental accompaniment. Source: over 1 year ago
  • (Collab/question) Ive written a lot of lyrics for songs but need help bringing them to life with music
You can also see what happens if you type syllables into https://hookpad.hooktheory.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
