Mountain Duck Reviews

  1. Lots of bugs & permanently annoying Updates (Of cours everytime with a reboot)
  2. Works well in general, many supported cloud services

It's able to mount a cloud / network services as a drive and works seamlessly with your operating system. Found it a bit slow compared to the native software for a cloud service like Google Drive File Stream. Also include native support for Cryptomator encrypted volumes.

๐Ÿ Competitors: Drive File Stream by Google, Rclone
๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    Offline|End to end encrypted|Encryption|Smart synchronization (cache)
    ๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons:    Slow|A little buggy

NetDrive Reviews

  1. The best way for using cloud storage

It makes it easy to access cloud storage from PC or Mac. It is recommended for users of cloud storage such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    Direct access to cloud storage from explorer|Fast browsing and uploading speed|File lock support for all files
๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons:    Not available when offline.
  2. Fast and stable

One of my favorite software for my daily tasks. I've used and tried other similar softwares but NetDrive is the most stable one.

๐Ÿ Competitors: ExpanDrive, Mountain Duck, RaiDrive, WebDrive
๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    Its file upload speed is great especially when there are large number of small files. if you have nas you need this.
๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons:    No support for client side encryption. i saw it on their support forum that they have this feature on their list but not yet.
  3. Access files from multiple cloud storage in one place

I would absolutely recommend it to anybody. It is available across OS (Windows and Mac) and makes your files accessible anywhere, anytime.

    ๐Ÿ Competitors: Mountain Duck
๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    Supports many cloud storage|Available for both windows and mac|User friendly interface|File lock support|Fast upload and adjustable speed
๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons:    No mobile support|Limited maximum cache capacity to 50 gb

10 best apps to mount cloud storage
It is another cross-platform cloud client solution. Thanks to this app you can access and work with multiple cloud storages from your computer. NetDrive is very easy to use app, the only thing that is needed to connect a storage and to make it appear as a virtual disk on every start of your computer is to input your login information. Like all the above solutions, this one...

  • RcloneBrowser: Simple cross platform GUI for rclone
I've had a good experience with CyberDuck too. Recently I learned they also have MountainDuck for mounting remote storage: https://mountainduck.io/ I'm still excited to learn more about Rclone since it looks like a great way to sync the data across different cloud provider. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • Recommendation for file-streaming (folder sync) for Unraid?
Edit: The more I try to Google this, the more it seems like it's more of a Mac software question than it's something I could easily enable by way of a docker-hosted solution. Something like Mountain Duck might do the trick. But I'll hold out a bit to see if anyone has a suggestion before I buy one of their $50 licenses. Source: 7 months ago
  • Backblaze Product and Pricing Updates
Not open source, but I had my work buy me a license for: https://mountainduck.io/ and I quite like it. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Best secure and encrypted cloud service?
For a secure cloud storage setup, I use Cryptomator, accessible at https://cryptomator.org/, on my Android device, and Mountain Duck, available at https://mountainduck.io/, on my desktop. This configuration enables me to choose my own storage provider on a pay-as-you-go basis. My preferred storage provider is S3, mainly because it facilitates easy backup of cloud files on my NAS or via tools such as WinSCP, which... Source: 10 months ago
