I posted this tree the other day and people asked for more pictures. It’s a maple and seems to be growing roots into it’s self. Has some soft wood. Never seen anything like it before.
If the tree were younger, there might have been time for the roots to become thicker and graft themselves into the trunk. You should post this to monumentaltrees.com. Make sure you know the species of maple first though. Source: over 2 years ago
