They might as well go for a cheap hosted solution like Logtail, but it sounds like ingestion is a problem. Can you run fluentd/fluentbit? Source: 12 months ago
Hey, I don’t work with log ingestion for my career but the people I work with use GrayLog and have been looking for an alternative. I got an email not too long ago that was basically just advertising BetterStack/LogTail. Curious if you’ve heard of it or have any experience with it? https://betterstack.com/logtail. LogTail provides SQL-compatible structured log management based on ClickHouse, an OLAP database. In Logtail, you can analyze your logs by writing custom SQL queries. You can also connect Logtail to any BI tool directly. For visualization, it provides hosted Grafana dashboards which you can use to create custom charts and dashboards. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
How do you compare to https://betterstack.com/logtail which also seems to be built on Clickhouse? - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
The code base seems like a good reference as a small Python project. My fav option in this class of apps: https://lnav.org/ It lets you use journalctl with pipes as requested here: https://github.com/Textualize/toolong/issues/4. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
For local development, I cannot recommend lnav[1] enough. Discovering this tool was a game changer in my day to day life. Adding comments, filtering in/out, prettify and analyse distribution is hard to live without now. I don't think a browser tool would fit in my workflow. I need to pipe the output to the tool. If it's just files, lnav [1] is pretty good. [1] https://lnav.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

This is really pretty - I do really wish for a good rust replacement for lnav[1] someday. 1: https://lnav.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
