I never really use puppet tool, to be honest, I don't like how it distorts the shapes — hard to get clean bends. The characters are rigged with Limber which uses regular paths and strokes for the limbs, and gives a lot more control when animating. Source: over 2 years ago

There's a great plugin for After Effects called Duik Bassel 2, it allows to rig and animate characters easily, it's made for motion graphics but for your comic you could also export your characters as images after you pose them. Source: over 1 year ago
