Watch YouTube series like John Bartholomew's "Climb the Rating Ladder" for some general insight into what you might be doing wrong. • Why is this checkmate? Couldn’t the black Queen have blocked the check by moving to d7 (and THEN white could have taken the Queen and it would have been checkmate on the next move)?
