Best Bitcoin Wallets
The Ledger Nano X and Ledger Nano S are hardware wallets that keep your bitcoins safe in an offline device. About the size of a USB flash drive, Ledger devices connect to your phone or computer to store and access your digital holdings. The device is surrounded by a stainless steel cover, which makes it very durable.

iCompta Reviews

  1. Your finance ... stays in YOUR device

There are so many good reasons iCompta is great ! - The data is yours and stays yours > the only place it can go is YOUR icloud - 1 time purchase > not a rip off subscription - The developer is a guy - not a company trying to sell you a credit or sell others your data - The thinking around the budget cards account... is quite good. Needs some time to get used to it but it's very fine

Unfortunately the UI is very very basic and not very friendly to log an expense... especially on the phone (it is merely a copy of the computer interface ) - reports are also quite horrible.

šŸ‘ Pros:    1 time purchase - no subscription|Your data stays yours|Very well thoughts & customizable
šŸ‘Ž Cons:    Need to buy mac os & ios apps separatly|Graphical reports are clearly bad|Ui could be a bit more user friendly

  • Double-Entry Bookkeeping as a Directed Graph
I use ledger: https://ledger-cli.org/ I believe this same plain text format is used by other tools, which you can find info about here: https://plaintextaccounting.org/ (In particular a lot of people seem to use hledger and beancount) The ledger is written using a text editor. The purpose of the software is to add everything up, calculate the balances and make sure everything balances. I keep all of my 12 years of... - Source: Hacker News / 9 days ago
  • Double-Entry Bookkeeping as a Directed Graph
I'm surprised that there is no mentions of a great hacker-friendly plain-text accounting software called `ledger` https://ledger-cli.org/ in this thread. It has amazing documentation when it comes to understanding basic principles of double-entry bookkeeping and goes through many typical situations and usecases. There are also several forks, most popular and advanced is `hledger` https://hledger.org/ (h is for... - Source: Hacker News / 9 days ago
  • GnuCash Tutorial and Concepts Guide
If it helps anyone, I wrote a blog post[0] (based on this comment[1]) explaining how double-entry accounting works. I have recently been thinking about building my own program that implements double-entry accounting in a more approachable form for individuals. Iā€™m not sure if pure accounting concepts are ideal for the average person for keeping track of their budget like how they are essential for businesses. My... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

I learnt all of this by using ledger[0] and, of course, reading its manual. I've been maintaining my own accounts for more than a decade now. It's fun being able to plot my overall wealth and expenses over time. [0] https://ledger-cli.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

Shameless plug: some time ago I wrote a booklet [0] about principles of accounting with examples in Ledger [1], aimed at personal/home finance (as opposed to corporate finance).
