Great list, thank you. One option is to always have more than one payment processor activated. Splitting payments across providers early on doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I know it feels like overkill, but I’d recommend either outsourcing (even Stripe has usage-based billing if you can keep your updates under 100/s) or using something off-the-shelf like https://killbill.io. I work for a SAAS recurring billing platform, chargeover.com from my experience you do not need to send them an invoice. If they agree to terms when they signup you could just run a payment against their card on file and send them a payment receipt. It's a pretty slick deal, and there are loads of other options you could enable as well. But to your question it's more common than you think not to send invoices... Source: almost 3 years ago
