I like to use justpark.com and rent a driveway for a few hours. Gives me peace of mind my car is off the street and garuntees I have a space, usually between 3-10 pounds but its best to book a week or so before as they sell out. Many thanks for your advice and re my trip to London. The drive down the motorway was awful until we got to Luton and the rain packed. in. The location was Hendon so just a couple of mins from the end of the M1. That part of London is pretty difficult to park up and I prebooked a space on a driveway that was just 3 mins walk from the kosher Chinese. (www. justpark.com -no affiliation). Hello lovely Brummies, my husband has a PM hospital appointment at the QE in a couple of weeks' time and the letter says the nearest parking is car park D on Mindelsohn Way. Mind you between airlines and hotel websites, services like booking.com or airbnb, tripadvisor, klook etc its gotten easier and easier and easier to not only pre book things but pre pay for everything, including guides and entrance fees. Others, try using Hotel.com and booking.com in advance, but they are not guaranteed rooms, and almost every year I see people trying to argue with the front desk that they have a reservation.
