Jibo VS Mycroft.AI

For the AI/Robotics exhibition of a major computer museum I am looking to get hands on a Jibo, preferably in working condition. Unfortunately, neither the contact form, nor the email on jibo.com give any results, neither did nttdisruption.com which seems defunct. Source: about 1 year ago

Maybe it wasn't as well known as I think, but I've encountered a lot of hype about Jibo and it was a flop. The kind of flop that Segway was, maybe not as big tho. Source: over 2 years ago

It's indeed suspicious. You're sending your voice samples, your various services accounts, your location and more private data to some proprietary black box in some public cloud. Sorry, but this is a privacy nightmare. But I would recommend writing some proper glue logic in Python and use the socket function for communication. But if you really want to get rid of Alexa, it's probably worth it to set up mycroft.ai or another open source assistant. Source: 10 months ago
