I used a dizzying array of tools to pull this off. Labor-sheds for Regional Analysis by Chris Fowler, Penn State Univ., was the source of the city-regions map data and central cities used for calculation. JPL Horizons provided the sunrise data. Looks useful for gradients. Strange that nobody mentions Paletton. It's my go to tool when picking colors: https://paletton.com/ You start with the base, and then also get gradients to adjacent colors in the palette. Could use a pipeline to this one website that scans colors from images and states their name, could be a quick new command like a special screenshot that is sent and scanned then named.
