Getting a user's location from their IP should be possible with something like this https://ipgeolocation.io/ (free for up to 1000 requests per day which my puny website will never get). Latitude + longitude data from this service could be used to place the location dot accurately on the globe, although I'd have to look more into the math aspect of that before. For some weird reason, the WAN IP (100.67.XXX.XXX) is very different from my public IP that I can see with ifconfig.me (185.89.XXX.XXX). Not sure why is that, probably it's some Ubiquity 'feature' to access the UDM via the Unifi portal. Source: 5 months ago
