Of course this is not an optimal solution so I am in search of the proper fix. I reached out to the IDJC developer (project page: https://idjc.sourceforge.io) and he found that IDJC worked on his system with Pipewire .77 with no issues. He then tried with Pop OS and can reproduce the problem. His take is that it's a problem with how Pipewire was compiled for Pop, not a bug in either PW or IDJC. Source: 8 months ago

There are quite a few DJs that use Ableton for DJing (or hybrid sets). Of course, Ableton wasn't made with DJing as its main function in mind but you totally can use it for that purpose and (with some tweaking) do everything and more that would be possible in a dedicated DJing software (like Traktor or Rekordbox or Mixxx). Alternatively, you can also use Mixxx with the S4 MK2. Mixxx is free. But instead of a Traktor control vinyl record, you'd use Serato timecode instead, as stated in the docs. Source: 11 months ago
