I've been searching for ages for a word of the day widget and I stumbled upon this free API by mcnaveen and I figured out how to use it and turn it into a widget using this widget maker! Indify (https://indify.co/) has a widget for gallery slides. I haven't used it myself yet, so I'm unsure of how many photos you can add and how well it works overall.
