4: Depends on our OS but on windows I used ImDisk then set the transcoding directory in settings. Those same settings are how you'd set it to a dedicated disk as well. Source: 6 months ago
Since I have 128GB of ram, https://i.imgur.com/CkBzNvS.png I like to shove my games into ram and load them very fast. Up until a few days ago it was working for RUST, but now it doesn't work any more because of EAC. On normal nvme ssd I can load into a 5k map in about good 5 minutes, but on a ram drive, I was able to load into a 5k map in a minute or two. You can check out imdisk-toolkit and a basic video on it... Source: 10 months ago
If your server is hosted on Windows you can use any RAMdisk software. I use ImDisk Toolkit. Set up a RAM disk to launch at Windows startup, set the drive letter, and in your Plex server settings > Transcoder (enable advanced settings), set your transcoder directory to the RAMdisk. Install RAMdisk, set as drive R, just don't select the option to store its contents on the actual drive. Source: about 1 year ago
If you just want to make a simple backup, you can create an image file of your CDs and upload them to somewhere like the Internet Archive to preserve their content. There are various software capable of creating image files, including InfraRecorder and WinCDEmu. Here's a simple guide on how to create an ISO image file from a CD or DVD. Source: 10 months ago
Despite what the page says, the file in question is actually a .img file, which won't be accepted by most programs out of the box. To convert it into a more usable .iso format, I would recommend using WinCDEmu for Windows, but other CD-related tools should be able to do the job as well. I don't know of any solutions for MacOS or Linux; comments for those platforms would be appreciated! Source: 11 months ago
What? oh. I used this version from the wayback machine, and then opened the iso with THIS handy dandy and quite small tool! I do that with a lot of games actually,. Source: 11 months ago
Use WinCDEmu to mount the ISO, not the built-in Windows "Mount" command. Source: 11 months ago
I downloaded Preinstalled ZIP folder (2.26GB) and used WinCDEmu (an open-source CD/DVD/BD emulator) to mount the file. This is because the games were originally released on CDs or DVDs. ISOs and ROMs are basically electronic versions of the original game discs. OGD has a guide on all of this. Source: 11 months ago
