I've found the most success with learning words in some sort of flashcard format based on frequency lists (meaning learning the most frequently used words first), and then solidifying that learning by reading Chinese text in graded readers. For the flashcard format I use hackchinese.com , for the graded reading I use DuChinese app. Source: 9 months ago

Hackchinese.com has lots of vocabulary lists, like "baking a cake" (14 words), "bicycles" (53 words), "bus" (29 words).... There is a free trial so you can see if you like it, but I don't remember how long it is. Source: about 2 years ago

Before that, every second word was causing me to stop. And... Source: 8 months ago
If you're going to do this, why not just use something like the free tier of ReadLang? Source: 9 months ago
Readlang, but you have to have a basic vocabulary; otherwise it is not easy. Https://readlang.com/ I've had a love and hate relationship with Duolingo for Dutch and French. I'm trying it for Greek now and it seems to have improved over the last few years. Source: 10 months ago
I think https://readlang.com/ is similar to LingQ and hast the option to upload files - I have never used it though, so no guarantee the formatting is better. Source: 11 months ago
