Here's an idea that I would have always taken advantage of had I been good at graphics design. Go to a website like graphicriver.net and check out the different types of graphics people sell there and look for the best sellers and try and do a better version of what the best selling graphics are. Custom template icons are not really possible. The icons are actually a graphical font, not images like .png, and this font is modified by reMarkable and embedded within the Xochitl binary. It is technically possible to replace it, but you would have to ensure its new length is fewer than its original bytes.
