Dropbox might be a bit more popular than Google One. We know about 28 links to it since March 2021 and only 22 links to Google One. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.

The storage that Google Photos uses comes from your Google One plan. You get 15 GB free with any Google account, but after that you'd need to purchase Google One storage. Google One is the name of Google's cloud storage (it's what Google Drive also draws from for its storage). Source: 12 months ago

Google offers personal cloud storage at 2TB for $99.99 a year, it doesn't seem unreasonable to be able find more storage at the same price elsewhere. I'm not about to go looking everywhere but IDrive has 5TB plan for $79.95, although they're primarily a backup service it seems. Cloud storage is cheap these days. Source: over 1 year ago

Note that Dropbox automatically backs up all your files. So if you delete a file, you can recover it on dropbox.com, even 6 months later. Source: 9 months ago
Upload what is on that stick to a cloud based system that is not vulnerable to degradation of hardware, you can get a lot of storage for free on sites like dropbox.com, mega.nz, or icloud. You can also always make multiple backups. Source: 9 months ago
Did you try logging into dropbox.com and checking there? Often the files remain online even if they are removed locallY. You have to log in with the same account you deleted Locally. Source: 9 months ago
Dropbox: You absolutely NEED backups. Ideally, both physical and cloud backups, because if you only have one backup, you're not backed up. I can't even begin to tell you how many writers have lost days, weeks, or even entire novels worth of work because they failed to back up their work, then had their computer break or had some weird software snafu.
