Perl actually had a pretty good UI story way back when. Perl/Tk always was well documented and Perl's syntax works quite well with the original Tcl-ish/Shell style. Note that GIT's default GUI parts are written in exactly that. Tk then hit a bit of a limit when it came to common widgets, and so got less popular. The client itself keeps track of your artists, playlists, and likes. It doesn't require an account or any personal information to use and at times feels too good to be true.
