Perl actually had a pretty good UI story way back when. Perl/Tk always was well documented and Perl's syntax works quite well with the original Tcl-ish/Shell style. Note that GIT's default GUI parts are written in exactly that. Tk then hit a bit of a limit when it came to common widgets, and so got less popular. One good-sized open source Perl-based GUI example is gmusicbrowser. It's not the most cross-platform and the coding style has some minor deviations from the norm, but it's not that hard to follow and big enough be more than just a minor toy. Source: over 2 years ago

Audirvana is simply "install-and-play-anything" kind of SW and even with native DAC in Macbook Air (early 2015), it sounds absolutly amazing.
