  I built a form-to-email service like Formspree or Getform. My API accepts form submissions from the client, parses the request with formidable, and then sends the fields via email to the user. Any files submitted with the form are sent as attachments to the email. This way I never store the fields in my database or the files in something like AWS S3. Source: almost 2 years ago

  For static websites, such as those on Gatsby, when handling form submissions, you either need a server to use a third-party form service. The Gatsby docs do a pretty good job in explaining how to build a contact form and it provides options for form submissions.
