i hate facebook in its entirety so much and will continue to refuse to use it, I hate it even moreso now because it has taken the traffic away from craigslist and im trying to get into selling diy products on there. I hope with all of my being that I can find a way to start up a local, natural makeup/sewing business WITHOUT having to use ANY sort of facebook or google products... I want to make it as local as I can and I am having the roghest time.

I enjoyed the Monsters Inc reference and the turning of it on its head central to this piece. But we've said/argued this for years and at the end of the day engagement = ad reach = profits and until the economics there change any for-profit social media will gravitate towards engagement.
