I'm using GeneratePress along with Thrive Architect, the theme is perfectly functional for me. It's perfectly compatible. It integrates well with Thrive Architect better than the FocusBlog theme I was previously using.
Pantheon might be a bit more popular than GeneratePress. We know about 19 links to it since March 2021 and only 14 links to GeneratePress. It's causing A LOT of problems. Check out GeneratePress theme. It's a good one for beginners and they have great documentation and a wonderfully helpful forum. I had to do this for a job a few years ago. I created a sandbox version of the site on pantheon.io and removed all editing permissions. On additional discovery that they only needed the static content, I created a static site using SiteSucker (mac app store). They were able to put this folder on their local machine to access anytime.
