12 Best Hiking Apps You Must Have in 2022
The best GPS app for hiking is Gaia GPS. With slightly better maps and navigation than AllTrails, this is the best app for navigating. To use the map and features offline, you’ll need to pay for a Gaia GPS subscription of $39.99 per year.
Best Hiking Apps of 2022 – Tested and Reviewed
The AllTrails hiking app has a good interface and comes with road, satellite and topographic map like the Gaia GPS app mentioned above. However, the AllTrails app provides you with much less information about your hike than the Gaia GPS app and has a less sophisticated topographic map. Besides from that, it is relatively easy to use and even comes with preloaded trails which...

Komoot uses the open-source OpenStreetMap database and allows you to plan road, mountain bike and gravel rides as well as commutes. 14 Best Strava Alternatives and Similar Apps
Komoot vs. Strava is asked many times. They aren’t competing in many aspects because Komoot has a different purpose: to assist those who like to go off-grid or offline.
Best Hiking Apps of 2022 – Tested and Reviewed
The Komoot app wins when it comes to graphic design and interface. The app is very easy to use and comes with several very useful features. One such feature is turn-by-turn voice navigation – yes, even on hiking trails! Furthermore, the app also calculates the optimal route to your destination for you; if you tap on a point on the map, the app will create you the optimal...

  • Update: Important improvement on the way!
In no small part thanks to you and other users experiencing this issue, I was able to reproduce this consistently. And in doing so, I discovered that the web UI on gaiagps.com and the database where that info is saved, had different definitions of what should be possible.  Let's say I own a folder (i'm the Owner), and I share it with you (you're the Sharee). In the database, only I, the Owner, am allowed to add... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Help!!!
You could go to caltopo.com or gaiagps.com and build your own map using either of these. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Routes partially or completely disappear
I spent a TON of time accurately making some long routes (on gaiagps.com) and now I see most are gone completely and others have large segments missing ! Anyone else have this happen ? (OSX and IOS). I opened a ticket but no response yet. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Windows (web) version is useless
Hey u/SolidGoldUnderwear, sorry for the trouble. Please try clearing the cache on your browser. The easiest way to do this is to hold down the shift key and refresh the gaiagps.com browser window. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Windows (web) version is useless
Hey u/Puss_Lips, sorry about that. It may be a caching issue. The edited route should show if you clear your browser cache. The easiest way to do this is to hold down the Shift key and click the refresh button on the gaiagps.com browser window. If that doesn't work, would you mind contacting Support so we can gather more info? You can do that here: https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Source: about 2 years ago

  • Cycling to the New Forest
Have you tried looking at https://www.opencyclemap.org/ or something like komoot.com? OCM will show you the cycle routes around (as /u/CaptRik says, the 236 national cycle route will take you there - looks to be a simple route), and Komoot can do a route plan for you between two points which you can follow in an app and also shows a breakdown of what type of surface and road you'll be on. For your route, it's... Source: 11 months ago
  • First time cycle route planning -- what's your go to?
I usually use komoot (komoot.com, but there's also an app). IIRC it's paid, if you want the maps offline (can be bought for $10 on sale, otherwise $30). Do note that not all countries are supported, so best to check this out first.. Source: 11 months ago
  • Tips for Cycling to work in Oxford? (Headington)
Got any friends that cycle? See if you can borrow a bike and go for a ride with one of them for an hour or two one evening - just get used to being on the road, how to signal, etc. If you're already comfy on a bike then it'll come really easy, and your fitness will build surprisingly fast too. Also maybe have a look on something like Komoot to check out possibly routes, Oxford has a surprising amount of little... Source: 11 months ago
  • Arc not supporting WebGL?
Just downloaded Arc, very interesting, excited to try this new experience. I use komoot.com a lot to plan my bike rides, but when I opened it in Arc, it seems like it cannot render the map section because of Komoot not being able to access WebGL. Did anyone experience similar problems, even with other websites? Source: 11 months ago
  • Is there a better alternative to google maps for cycling?
You can use other route finder like strava.com , komoot.com, ridewithgps.com. Source: 12 months ago
