  • Diesel 'rip-off' as wholesale prices cheaper than petrol for over a month, RAC says
You need to look at the app called Fuelio. Its core purpose was to record your fill ups but the part of the app you just described is called 'nearby'. Its currently telling me I have 109 stations within 10 miles of me, the average prices for the area, the best price, the nearest pump and the top rated. Its crowdsourced from those who use the app so its not always reliable but its a good start. I've used it since... Source: 12 months ago
  • The 2009 Prius I just bought is getting an average of 60 mpg
I can recommend the Fuelio app for tracking your fuel consumption and maintenance costs. Really useful for seeing how this compares over time. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Does anyone know an app/website I can download that will calculate my projected gas expenses?
I use Fuelio to log my mileage. It helps keep track of mpg, price trends, and other things. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Have to drive 150+miles/2+ hours to a gig. Can I bill for mileage? If so how?
I've been using Mile-IQ for a few years tracking every drive, combined with fuel.io to track vehicle maintenance and fuel stops. My CPA hasn't complained about the data yet. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Can I improve further?
I'd also recommend experimentation with new methods per each tank of gas and use fuelly.com to track and add notes to see which methods work the best for your specific Prius and use case over time. Source: 11 months ago
  • Owners: What efficiency are you seeing with your regular driving?
Sure there is. Go check out fuelly.com and tell me that you wouldn't be able to estimate pretty closely the mpg of any car you own based on that data and considering your own driving style. Source: 11 months ago
  • Sanity check: How and when do PHEVs make sense?
As to the data the article is using... It mentioned fuelly.com as a source. Just clicking on a few PHEVs from that website, it's abundantly clear how tiny the data set is. Nor does it seem to do much in the way of data verification. I just pulled up the listing for the Chevy Volt. Somehow I doubt there are dozens of people between 200 mpge and 500 mpge (200 mpge = 6 mi/kWh), and even 2 cars are listed at 1 mpge! Source: 12 months ago
  • Real life fuel consumption
Fuelly.com has real-life experience for each. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Amazing MPG on 2023 Corolla LE
Nice! I have a 2015 corolla LE and my best tank was 50.8 MPG on 412 miles. It was a trip from KY to OH cruising around 65 mph mostly. I average 42.8 MPG across 140,264 miles tracked via fuelly.com. If I didnt live in cold Michigan winters it would be higher. Very fuel-efficent gas-only car, definitely capable of 50+ MPG with the right conditions and certain manner of driving. Source: about 1 year ago
