Why don't you use Dynamic-DNS like https://duckdns.org and have the pi send your IP to the DDNS with script automated to run every 30 mins in crontab. That way you don't need anything like what you talked about and your DDNS would update from the very same pi that you are running the pi on! Source: almost 3 years ago
One thing you will need to do for yourself is buy the domain name. There are lots of good places. I’ve been a fan of Porkbun and Namesilo. One domain I have had for over 20 years was originally purchased with GoDaddy. I then transferred to Google Domains when that opened up for supposedly better integration with Google Workspace. Check porkbun.com, namesilo.com, then namecheap.com. They offer most but not all TLDs but each offers a few the other doesn't. There are some that none of them offer so you can try GoDaddy but they're pricey. Those three are among your best bets for long term low pricing. Source: 5 months ago
