If you're on macos, have you checked out the doppler music player[1]? Might be up your alley. These days I buy on Bandcamp and sync between my Mac and iPhone with Doppler. I mostly listen to metal and punk, and luckily that's almost always available on Bandcamp. Source: about 1 year ago
You might also want to look into the website cytu.be, where you can create your own channel to watch Google Drive-hosted videos, YouTube, Vimeo, etc., synced up for multiple users.
