There are also services like dolly.com but I don't have any experience with them. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Who do you call when you just need to move a couch?
The app dolly is good! https://dolly.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Help moving a bookcase?
Dolly app is specifically for moving things. I haven't tried it yet but I've heard good things from furniture stores. Did you ask at the desk? Sometimes they have recommended delivery companies, I used to recommend 2bigformycar but I had a bad experience, maybe it was just me, the guys were kind of jerks and rude. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Affordable moving companies that go out of state?
Hi 👋, I just moved from Indy to Chicago a few weeks ago. I was going to use Two Men and a Truck, but they quoted me $3800 for a one bedroom apartment. So instead I just rented a 15' U-Haul and used this app called Dolly, which is like Uber for hiring moving help. I paid a few hundred bucks for the U-Haul and $100 for the Dolly worker in Chicago. 10/10 would use Dolly again, so it's something to consider. Driving a... Source: over 1 year ago
  • I need to get some living room seating in my new apartment, but don’t have help to get a couch up the awkward tight staircase. Could a futon be worth it? Are there any cheap ways to get a couch delivered?
We've used Dolly (dolly.com) for small moving jobs, pricing is up front, guys have all worked out. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Hi I’m on my journey to start a small business one man one 18ft box truck service company
Look at these guys for jobs. Talk with a commercial insurance broker for the rest. Source: 4 months ago
  • R/frugal seems to recommend used treadmills. How do you guys move it?
I used https://goshare.co/ , which is sort of like Uber for delivery. It connects you to a guy with a truck. We both put the treadmill in the truck back, then he drove to my place. Cost for delivery was 43 minutes * $0.99/min = $42.57 . The used Nordictrack 1750 treadmill cost $200 (retails near $2000 new). I've run thousands of miles on the treadmill since then, some with intense HIIT -- no issues. Source: 12 months ago
  • Best way to move a single furniture item?
There's this Uber-esque thing for furniture called GoShare I found. Anyone have experience with it? My estimate was $84, which is better. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Sprinter Van Business
Look at goshare.co they are hooked up with places like Ikea and furniture stores. IDK if they're in your area, but if they are, it could give you a good base to start your business. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Utility Trailer Rental Business
I can get stake trucks, vans and other kinds for $19.95/day all day long. And, there's apps like goshare.co for that stuff, too. Source: over 2 years ago
