  • Finally finished my first playthrough
So first person things.. Morrowind hopefully with mods, and Daggerfall Unity dfworkshop.net. Source: 11 months ago
  • [PC recommendation] Kingdom Come Deliverance but fantasy / medieval fantasy games
Because it's way better than Skyrim and makes you figure your ways, no handholding. Oblivion is still a little better than Skyrim, but if you really really ask me, Daggerfall Unity is what you may want to check out dfworkshop.net. Source: 12 months ago
  • Never actually played any elder scrolls game, gonna start from the beginning, any tips? I read only half the player's guide.
100%, but I should add: not the GoG cut. Get DFU from dfworkshop.net instead - the GoG version is outdated and comes with a bunch of mods pre-installed with zero regard for how they affect game balance or aesthetic cohesion when mixed together, to say nothing of basic compatibility and system requirements. • does anybody know what devices I can play daggerfall on?
Daggerfall Unity, from dfworkshop.net, is absolutely the way to go - then, install mods from the Nexus if you want. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Reqs on PC turn based RPG's on GOG.
Oh I almost forgot! Have you heard about Daggerfall Unity? dfworkshop.net complete remake of DF and its awesome, full mod support lots of customization plenty of bugfixes after the decades eventually, lots of QoL stuff.. DF Unity I strongly recommend to (re?)visit. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • I have a dream; an open sourced Skyrim
Bethesda will likely never open source Skyrim, the game engine would need to be recreated from scratch. This has actually been done for Morrowind with the OpenMW project so it is quite possible it could be done for Skyrim as well. That said, Skyrim is a bit more complex than Morrowind in terms of what goes on under the hood so it would be a lot of effort by dedicated people which would take many years to... • Explain to me like im 5, how do i play this game with 1980x1080?
You want to use OpenMW - https://openmw.org/. Source: 5 months ago
  • morrowind should i play it? if so what mods should i install?
Morrowind was the first TES game I played so I am biased towards it but the main appeal for me was the unique world and lore the guild quests feel more realistic for example the first couple Mages Guild quests are finding local mushrooms and flowers, gameplay is a bit outdated the combat is based on hit percentages based on you and the enemies skill and stats and fatigue level, the main thing I recommend is using... • OpenMW: Open-source TES3: Morrowind reimplementation
For those that have a liking to the blog style project updates some other projects do, the main website is a good feed https://openmw.org/en/. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago

Morrowind - don't bother playing this without the Morrowind codepatch + Patch for purist OR you go with OpenMW. Source: 11 months ago
