$20 is a very small amount when fees can be as high as $1-$10. It is best to buy slowly on an exchange and then transfer $100-10,000 at a time. I use pro.coinbase.com but coinbase.com is slightly more expensive and is easier to use. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
Finally, to get USD into BTC (et al), I think a lot of people go to coinbase.com. But, the transaction fees are outrageous because it's designed for simpletons so it's better to go to it's sister exchange, pro.coinbase.com where the transaction fees are better. I believe Coinbase (the company) is expected to go public later this year. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
I've heard that Coinbase Pro is best for low fees. I've never bothered to check the numbers but I use it and have no complaints. (You can access it with a normal Coinbase account but you just to go pro.coinbase.com and get a slightly more intimidating interface, but its simple enough to submit buy orders if you roughly know what you're looking for.). - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
Get set up on pro.coinbase.com for a more advanced trading interface and access to more coins. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
