I’ve had an easy time getting around in Sydney by public transport using Citymapper. Source: 9 months ago
  • Am I weird?
We do! Citymapper often will tell you what door to get on for the best exit, depending on whether there's data available for that journey. Source: 9 months ago
  • Google maps should add a feature for train or bus trips to have your phone vibrate a few stops before yours, thereby allowing you to take a quick nap without worrying about missing it.
Citymapper does this really well. It also tells you where to sit on the train to be nearest the most convenient exit at your stop. Source: 11 months ago
  • DART commuters, how far do you have to walk each day?
But by way of encouragement maybe, the area near my office—off Irving Blvd and Medical District Dr—is not pedestrian friendly by any stretch. Google Maps will give you worthless, even dangerous bike routes. Citymapper is a bit better, but really what I found paid off was spending some time studying maps, aerial and street-level imagery, then a weekend morning doing some testing and exploration. • Google reccomending that you take lyft when you look for transit. Funny how it doesn't do that when you want to drive 🤔
Depending on the city you might be able to use citymapper. But like the others here I suspect that the main problem is that the city you're in just plain sucks, and at that point, cabs might be the best option for us without a George Jetson style folding car in our pocket. Source: 12 months ago
