I’ve had an easy time getting around in Sydney by public transport using Citymapper. Source: 10 months ago
  • Am I weird?
We do! Citymapper often will tell you what door to get on for the best exit, depending on whether there's data available for that journey. Source: 10 months ago
  • Google maps should add a feature for train or bus trips to have your phone vibrate a few stops before yours, thereby allowing you to take a quick nap without worrying about missing it.
Citymapper does this really well. It also tells you where to sit on the train to be nearest the most convenient exit at your stop. Source: 11 months ago
  • DART commuters, how far do you have to walk each day?
But by way of encouragement maybe, the area near my office—off Irving Blvd and Medical District Dr—is not pedestrian friendly by any stretch. Google Maps will give you worthless, even dangerous bike routes. Citymapper is a bit better, but really what I found paid off was spending some time studying maps, aerial and street-level imagery, then a weekend morning doing some testing and exploration. • Google reccomending that you take lyft when you look for transit. Funny how it doesn't do that when you want to drive 🤔
Depending on the city you might be able to use citymapper. But like the others here I suspect that the main problem is that the city you're in just plain sucks, and at that point, cabs might be the best option for us without a George Jetson style folding car in our pocket. • MrBeast climbed a mountain in Antarctica, we are all trying to figure out which on he climbed. It is his latest video on YouTube. This group is usually pretty good at finding these things. He named it 'Shopify' Mountain, because he was the first to climb it. Also, I am not promoting his channel.

  • Geoguessr Radio
This extension adds a radio to single player games on the geoguessr.com website. Geoguessr Radio automatically switches to local radio stations while you are playing. The radio will appear in the Classic game mode exclusively when playing Single Player. Challenges and Competitive Mode are not supported. Stations are filtered by country and will switch automatically when you make a guess. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Random Google Street View
There is also a game (now a family of games) built around this concept, where you get a Street View location without seeing the map, and you have to figure out where you are based on what you can see. https://geoguessr.com/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
