Litespeed vs Nginx vs Apache: Web Server Showdown
Nginx on the other hand, can work as a reverse proxy in front of an Apache, or as it’s own web server and does not have an equivalent feature for .htaccess files. Apps written in Python and Ruby are known to have high performance when running on an Nginx web server. With load balancers, some optimization, and Nginx, you might have a setup that’s super high performance. Nginx...
Top Linux Web Servers: Pros and Cons
Now that we know their advantages and disadvantages, which web server is the best? The answer depends on your use case. Nginx is a very fast and powerful option, Apache is a great general-purpose web server, while LiteSpeed represents a premium alternative. All the hype surrounding the performance improvements of nginx seem to be comparing it to prefork apache with mod_php. I have not seen an honest apples to apples benchmark ever. I should have published my findings, but I'm a nobody without even a blog.
Alternative web servers compared: Lighttpd, Nginx, LiteSpeed and Zeus

One of its original goals focused on speed, an area in which Apache was believed to be lacking. - Source: / about 2 months ago
  • LAMP is dead! Long live (Perl) web frameworks!
Certainly on the Perl side (with which I’m most familiar), the community has long since recommended the use of a framework built on the PSGI specification, deprecating 1990s-era CGI scripts and the mod_perl Apache extension. Although general-purpose web servers like Apache or Nginx may be part of an overall system, they’re typically used as proxies or load balancers for Perl-specific servers either provided by the... - Source: / about 2 months ago
  • Chef client (openssl) failing on LetsEncrypt certs?
Yep, I think it is. I’m having this issue as well, and the cert in question is for, which is now using a new R3 cert, but Chef/Ruby/OpenSSL aren’t having it. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
