Over the weekend, media and digital brand holding company IAC announced that it had agreed to buy Care.com, which describes itself as “the world’s largest online family care platform,” in a deal valued at about $500 million. 5 Questions with Isabela Nunez and Silvia Travesani of Campanizer
Travesani: We have competition. Other companies in the space, like Sawyer, Care.com Explore (formerly Galore), and ActivityHero, have focused on provider registration technology and activity directories. Our emphasis on parent coordination leads to faster growth, higher activity registration rates and drives the sought-after word-of-mouth lead generation for activity providers.

  • Let MB know I know about new nanny ???? 😩
I found it on care.com. Im waiting for her to say what she has to say Wednesday to make my next move because agencies obv want references. Source: 5 months ago
  • Care.com struggles
Just like most online narrative reviews people would rarely have reason to come here and post "I love care.com I just found a nanny!" it's a pointless post, people only tend to post to complain or get help with an issue. Care.com is more popular than ever and in most markets it's far and away the most popular app outside of Facebook and its various groups. I like the site but can still acknowledge its gotten worse... • Asking for industry standards led to me quitting
I'm glad you stood up for yourself, in this situation, but a word of caution that much like how the care.com calculator skews low, that one skews a bit high and can fluctuate. I just looked it up and for my area I am making what it suggests...for twins. I have the highest rate I know of (mind you, only after generous raises). I've talked to other nannies with more experience who make up to $5 less than me. Look at... Source: 5 months ago
  • What to do when parents sell their house.
Absolutely don't go into any home that's not government funded. If you have extra cash, pay it to hire someone through, e.g., care.com to visit your Dad in the home and provide extra assistance. Much cheaper to pay for some extra support in a publicly funded facility than to go into a 100% privately-funded one. Source: 5 months ago

  • How Do I Get My Narc Mother Out For All Our Sakes?
I wonder if it might be be easier for your brother and wife to move out vs. Kicking nmom out? Basically like pack their things and move in the night kind of thing. Could they afford an apartment for a few months so that nmom can have her meltdown because she definitely will when she realizes that her "servant" is gone. It's called an "extinction burst." I had one with my narc too and now it has settled into her... Source: about 1 year ago
  • How to deal with mother who is starting to have aging issues - I'm panicking!
I have a few suggestions. The website agingcare.com has been helpful for me. They can set you up with resources in your area- it differs from state to state in the USA. Maybe your other brother could contact your distant brother and talk to him about these issues? Source: about 1 year ago

  • Coping techniques for unlimited rage?
Can you contact community services in your area and explain that you are not prepared to be her caregiver? They will be able to set her up with support services that are available. (I actually found this forum via agingcare.com) Good luck! Source: almost 2 years ago
