Flask is simple and lightweight and as you said it give you flexibility. But if you want to have something that give you more flexibility and control over everything else besides the routing and server loop I would suggest bottle. Sorry for the possibly dumb questions. But then does .NET 5 have a "Model View Controller" workflow? I'm seeing ASP.NET still exists. But it's just "ASP.NET", no "MVC" or "Core" attached to the end.
