I find it runs a bit better and prefer it for Bible study and working with the original languages, but Logos is very capable and has a wider range of resources available.     A good resource to begin to look into some of your questions regarding translation might be Accordance Bible Software. I don't know what tradition you come from, but many Seminary's have classes and professors which I've found to be an incredibly helpful resource. Source: almost 2 years ago
