  • Some steps for looking up and reporting possibly stolen (probably illegally parked or abandoned) vehicles.
Double check you have typed the VIN correctly. You can cut-n-paste the VIN into a free vehicle history site to see if you are typing in a valid VIN and to identify the make, model and year of the hulking heap of mud-covered metal before you. Examples would be using https://vincheck.info/ and https://www.vehiclehistory.com/ to confirm if you’re using a valid VIN. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • Welp.....I was excited until today.....
I took the vin number and started floating around to see if maybe it was a website issue (because that does happen) and when I went to the site vincheck.info (which was recommended by a few people I know and I saw a few posts on some of the car subreddits about it being a very accurate and trust worthy site) and on that site it shows the manual transmission. I checked everything side by side with the mini site... - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Being poor is so expensive and wasteful.
Look for the VIN number and find car reports to find valuable information. I would personally stay away from salvaged and rebuilt vehicles. These are some free VIN check websites I used [iseecars.com](iseecars.com) nicb.org/vincheck vincheck.info These give small details but if a car really catches your eye then you can buy the full report for more details. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Got a parking ticket with the wrong license plate number
Valid point. I looked up the plate on a license plate checking site (https://vincheck.info/) and it said it didn't exist. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • Car buying negotiation during shortage tips
I find it funny that vincheck.info shows the history of the price of the car I wanted. It was $36,000 in April. Now it is $41,500. Same dealer, just few months apart. Unreal! Check that site as it appears to be like a free VIN check, but it lists all the sale prices. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
