Top Linux Web Servers: Pros and Cons
Now that we know their advantages and disadvantages, which web server is the best? The answer depends on your use case. Nginx is a very fast and powerful option, Apache is a great general-purpose web server, while LiteSpeed represents a premium alternative. Caddy works great if you need simplicity, while Lighthttpd works best when resources are low.

  • How secure is a reverse proxy?
... I've recently discovered something called caddy (https://caddyserver.com) that has some pretty nice features, especially TLS 1.3, disable 1.1 and below by default, modern crypto using golang's crypto suite (which as far as I know almost all golang projects use so that's a pretty wide attack surface and/or eyeballs attractor), etc. - Source: Reddit / 6 days ago
  • How to Install Caddy on Rocky Linux 8
The Caddy web server is an open-source web server written in Go. It is designed around simplicity and security that comes with a number of features that are useful for hosting websites. Caddy is both a flexible, efficient static file server and a powerful, scalable reverse proxy. - Source: dev.to / 11 days ago
  • A simple analogy to understand proxy vs reverse proxy server.
Also, encryption; the reverse proxy can terminate TLS so that the actual application doesn't need to worry about that. Shameless plug, Caddy excels at making this easy, with its Automatic HTTPS functionality, managing issuance and renewals of certificates from Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL. - Source: Reddit / 19 days ago
  • Where do you get your certificates?
My suggestion would be to get familiar with a reverse proxy that auto renews the certs for you. Like caddy, traefik or NPM. I personally use NPM (Nginx Proxy Manager), easy to setup and maintain. And its full Nginx in the backend, so you can adjust the configs as you like manually when you get the hang of it. - Source: Reddit / 27 days ago
  • At the beach, but Plex is down and I’ll be toast if it’s not up when we get home later
Caddy can reverse proxy a service with lets encrypt in about 3 lines of config. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
