Apartment List VS Zillow

I make $2,000 per month after tax, healthcare and 401K. I pay car insurance, private student loans (and federal will come due soon), phone bill, gas and a gym membership, totaling $1,140 / month. "Shelter" which is comprised of "Rent" and "Owners Equivalent Rent" (OER) has a 35% weighting in the headline CPI number - higher in the Core CPI number. In May, the BLS reported YoY Shelter inflation of +8.0% which was comprised of +8.7% on Rent and +8.0% on OER. The apartment database sites (padmapper.com, apartmentlist.com, zeus, blueground etc) are apparently super unreliable and are scams, and the apartments I've found (Blackbird, Elise, Equity Residential, Grand Parc, etc) are apparently the same. For reference, I will be working close to the Cedar Hurst area. I found a couple of places like Hello apartments and Deco 265 apartments on apartmentlist.com but wasn't sure about anything yet. I have been advertising with Zillow as a premier agent for 5 months now, and I can tell you that it is 100% a scam. I needed a new place to allocate some advertising dollars and decided to give Zillow a try. The sales rep, Lindsay Caldwell, told me the number of leads per zip I would receive (43) for the spend I was willing to do ($3,000 a month).
