I am in the same boat. Our reporting package started as just some canned hyperion financial statement reports. I have slowly added some more meaningful charts and bridges in recent years. I have also tried to take a lot of inspiration from the Zebra BI Addin (they have addins for excel, power BI, and power point I think) as well as the International Business Communications Standards guide book.
