I recently started watching a lot of different TV series with a friend. We'd meet on Discord, decide on a new series or pick up where we left off yesterday, and just go "3, 2, 1, go!" and both click play. If we watched on Netflix, we could use a browser extension (netflixparty.com) that does the same thing as websites like w2g.tv or andchill.tv, but most of the time, we'd watch on... It's no surprise that virtual watch party tools and platforms exploded in popularity over the past year. With limited things to go out and do to spend time together, watching movies and shows together virtually was an easy activity to do with friends. These tools aren't new. Just going to get in a plug for Scener here. It's a Chrome plugin that lets you host Netflix watch parties. It syncs the movie for everyone watching and adds text and video chat. Source: almost 3 years ago
