  • Hi guys i made a personal portfolio website. How would y'all rate it
Find a more pleasing set of colors to work with. The light gray font against a white background on your landing page is very difficult to read. If you need help finding colors that work well together try looking at Adobe's Color page, its REALLY useful: https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel. Source: 4 months ago
  • How do you pick paint colors that go well together, that aren't just different shades
I often use tools like this interactive adobe color wheel when oil painting or doing graphic design. It lets you pick a specific color, and then get analogous, complimentary, split complimentary, or other groups of colors Is there something similar that can be used for paint colors from specific brands? • New to digital art, any advice?
Also, the colors are a bit bright and (in my personal opinion, don't know your character) don't match well. There are plenty of sites that can give pretty decent palettes if you don't have anything specific in mind, and can filter for specific colors if you're in, say, a green mood. Adobe Color and Coolors are the ones I use most often. Source: 4 months ago
  • Color Appearance and the End of Hering’s Opponent-Colors Theory
    > I'd love to code up a machine learning project that showed the user many color combinations. I teach painting in an art school. The huge problem with almost all pallet choosing apps (e.g. Adobe's https://color.adobe.com/) is that they produce swatches: a small collection of discreet color values (e.g. red, green and yellow). These would present as peaks in a hue histogram. These swatches would be great for... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • I suck at choosing color I have watched video on color theory and i can't find the right combination. any suggestion
Once you chose a principal color for your project, simply use one of all color harmony rules that exist to find the other colors. Check this color harmony finder from Adobe. Source: 9 months ago

  • Tailwind Color Palette Generator
My go-to color links (general color theory stuff): - https://paletton.com/ palettes with color theory and can generate the entire scheme. - https://medialab.github.io/iwanthue/ I want hue, uses k-means to separate out colors, great for graphs and getting contrast on those. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
  • What program or website is best to creat images for power point or manuscripts?
Using something like https://medialab.github.io/iwanthue/ is also a good idea for generating distinct and colourblind-friendly colour palettes. Source: 10 months ago
  • Extreme Daylight Saving: What would it look like if sunrise was always kept between 6 and 7 AM? [OC]
I used a dizzying array of tools to pull this off. Labor-sheds for Regional Analysis by Chris Fowler, Penn State Univ., was the source of the city-regions map data and central cities used for calculation. JPL Horizons provided the sunrise data. QGIS did most of the heavy lifting, with assists by LibreOffice Calc, Notepad++, and Mapshaper. Iwanthue gave me the color scheme. The compositing was done in Inkscape, and... I quite like the color palettes generated by I want hue. I'd like to write an R wrapper around the js library for this tool. Source: almost 2 years ago
